By the end of September, Ukraine had exported 2.4 million tonnes of agricultural products, representing 46% of the required volume. Of this, grain exports amounted to 1.4 million tonnes, or 38% of the potentially required export volume.
Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotskyi said this during his weekly briefing with journalists.
According to him, Ukraine also exported in September:
Taras Vysotskyi noted that exports are moving in line with projected volumes — achieving 45–50% of the required export volume is the objective maximum within the existing routes. At the same time, 41% is transported by rail (993 thousand tonnes), 54% via the Danube (1.3 million tonnes), and road transport accounts for 5% (120 thousand tonnes).
«Without access to the existing Black Sea ports, Ukraine can export around half of the export-oriented agricultural products it grows. Therefore, when we talk about the consequences of blocked ports, this means being unable to export around 30 million tonnes of agricultural products worth approximately $10 billion in the current marketing year,» Taras Vysotskyi emphasised.
