The Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the Republic of Türkiye, which entered into force on 1 October this year, opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian agricultural producers and processors by creating more favourable conditions for access to one of the region’s key markets.

Türkiye exported more than 651 thousand tonnes of fresh vegetables worth a total of $822.679 million (+10%) in January–September this year.

Vegetable oil production in Ukraine will have to be reduced due to restrictions on maritime exports.

Exports of grain processing products from Ukraine in the first three months of the 2026/27 marketing year amounted to 120.1 thousand tonnes, which is 9.2% lower than in the same period of the previous season.

The European Business Association has called on the Ukrainian government to intensify diplomatic efforts with the Baltic countries and EU institutions to prevent an increase in exports of russian agricultural products through Baltic Sea ports.

Ukraine exported 3 million tonnes of agricultural products worth $1.6 billion in September 2026. Compared with August, volumes increased by 41% in physical terms and by 22% in value.

In September 2026, units of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine cleared 1,347 hectares of liberated territories of mines and explosive ordnance, including 339.84 hectares of agricultural land.

At the beginning of the season, Ukraine reduced rapeseed exports to the European Union but significantly increased supplies of rapeseed oil.

Ukraine and the European Commission have discussed changing the mechanism for administering tariff quotas for dairy products and flour, as well as expanding opportunities for Ukrainian bioethanol exports to the EU.

The current situation with complicated logistics caused by the blockade of Black Sea ports has not had a critical impact on the autumn sowing campaign. However, the area under winter crops will still decline.

By the end of September, Ukraine had exported 2.4 million tonnes of agricultural products, representing 46% of the required volume. Of this, grain exports amounted to 1.4 million tonnes, or 38% of the potentially required export volume.
