In January–August 2026, Ukraine increased the physical volume of egg exports by 18% to 1.64 billion units. Foreign exchange earnings rose by 37% to $164 million.

Maksym Hopka, Head of the Analytical Department at the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UCAB), told The Page.

According to him, the bulk of Ukrainian eggs is exported to the EU. At the same time, Ukraine fully meets domestic demand with its own production, while imports remain minimal and do not affect pricing.

On the domestic market, egg prices increased by 22% over the past month — from UAH 59 to UAH 72 per dozen. The expert forecasts that by December–January, prices could rise to UAH 78–90 per dozen.

Price dynamics will be influenced by the cost of alternative electricity generation, logistics and labour shortages. At the same time, low domestic prices for new-crop grain may restrain growth in production costs. Under these conditions, no large-scale egg shortage is expected.
