In Ukraine, corn has currently been harvested from approximately 20% of the area. The baseline harvest forecast is 30 million tonnes. However, reports from many regions indicate that actual yields are much lower than expected.
This was announced by Ukraine’s Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food, Taras Vysotskyi, during his weekly briefing with journalists.
«We will be able to assess the volumes more realistically once at least 50% of the area has been harvested. For now, we are maintaining our forecast of 30 million tonnes, but we do not rule out the possibility of revising this figure downwards. We can say that 25 million tonnes will certainly be harvested,» Taras Vysotskyi noted.
