Ukrainian farmers are considering reducing the area planted with corn next season due to the high cost of grain drying and low profitability.
This was reported by analysts at APK-Inform.
Last week, feed corn prices continued to decline amid progress in the harvesting campaign, subdued demand from most buyers and corresponding trends in the export market.
According to analysts, farmers were in no hurry to sell their grain, considering prices too low.
Meanwhile, most buyers purchased corn only when absolutely necessary, expecting prices to fall further.
Bid prices for feed corn stood at UAH 5,200–6,800 per tonne on CPT terms and $150–159 per tonne on CPT-port terms. The highest prices were offered by only a few companies.

Ukrainian agricultural producers have already completed the harvest of three crops: 25.5 million tonnes of wheat, 6 million tonnes of barley and 4 million tonnes of rapeseed have been harvested.
