Ukrainian cheese producers are facing growing pressure due to increasing imports of European dairy products. Against the backdrop of seasonal demand slowdown, lower-priced cheeses from the EU are increasingly displacing domestic products from the market.
This was reported by Infagro.
According to analysts, increased cheese supply in Europe has driven prices down, allowing importers to significantly expand shipments to Ukraine. As a result, it is becoming increasingly difficult for Ukrainian cheesemakers to compete, even despite extensive promotional discounts.
Under competitive pressure, some enterprises have already begun reducing production. During the first half of the year, output of hard and semi-hard cheeses declined compared to the same period last year.
