Honey Production Geography Is Shifting Westward

The geography of honey production in Ukraine is changing due to weather conditions and the war.
Vadym Pankovskyi, Commercial Director of the group of companies LLC U-Bee and LLC Bartnyk, told The Page.
«Due to changing weather conditions, western Ukraine, which was previously untypical for industrial beekeeping, is now becoming a fully-fledged honey-producing region,» he said.
According to the expert, eastern and southern regions are seeing a reduction in available areas due to the large amount of temporarily occupied territory. As a result, people there are not engaged in beekeeping. And as the available areas in dangerous locations shrink, beekeepers are moving to western and central Ukraine, where there are large areas of nectar-producing plants.
