Farmers Are Stocking Up on Fuel Several Months in Advance

AGROTRADE Group confirms that rising fuel prices will affect profitability, as the company’s budget was based on completely different price assumptions, and no one could have anticipated such a development.

This was stated in a comment to AgroPortal.ua by Ivan Kriuchkov, Director of the Agricultural Department.

«No one expected fuel prices to start rising again. We understand that this is related, in particular, to the situation around the Strait of Hormuz, as well as logistical constraints affecting maritime routes. As soon as this information began to emerge, we started preparing in advance. We purchased the maximum possible volume of fuel—enough for approximately several months—to meet the company’s operational needs,» he said.

At the same time, Ivan Kriuchkov noted that this also affects both budgeting and production costs.

«At present, we do not see a corresponding increase in prices for the products themselves. That is the main problem. We hope the market will gradually respond and that this will also be reflected in product prices,» he said.
