The organic products market in Norway accounts for 2% of the overall market, but there is a trend towards rapid growth. For Ukraine, this is an indication of where it can focus its efforts to enter the Norwegian market.
This was stated by Andreas L. Tranoy, Senior Adviser at the Norwegian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, during the online workshop «Exporting from Ukraine to Norway: Berries, Nuts and Other Agri-Food Products».
«To sell organic products in Norway, producers must have the relevant certificates. These include not only certificates confirming clean production, but also a Certificate of Inspection (COI) and an organic import certificate issued through TRACES NT. In addition, Norwegian importers must have authorisation to handle organic products,» Andreas L. Tranoy noted.
He also explained that Ukraine supplies Norway with animal and fish feed. However, Norwegian buyers do not want to purchase finished products, preferring ingredients supplied with all the necessary documentation.
