Robotics and automation in livestock farming will be among the key focus areas at EuroTier 2026, which will take place on 10–13 November in Hanover, Germany.
This was reported by EuroTier.
The event will be held under the motto «Intelligence in Livestock Farming» and will bring together more than 2,100 companies and organizations from over 50 countries. Participants will present innovative solutions for modern livestock farming across 220,000 m² of exhibition space.
The organizers note that automated milking, feeding and cleaning systems are being increasingly adopted on farms across Europe. Such technologies help reduce the workload on staff, improve the precision of production processes and partially address labour shortages.
Particular attention at the exhibition will be paid to robotic milking systems. According to the organizers, a single milking robot can perform up to 200 milkings per day, allowing farmers to move away from rigid working schedules and improve production efficiency.
Feeding robots are also becoming increasingly widespread. They automatically prepare rations, distribute feed and ensure its availability to livestock throughout the day. This makes it possible to reduce the time spent on feeding by up to two thirds.
Another area of development is robots for cleaning and manure removal, which ensure an appropriate level of hygiene in livestock housing facilities. Such solutions have already become standard for many modern farms.
Robotic systems are also being used more actively in poultry farming. In particular, they can monitor the microclimate in poultry houses, collect production data and stimulate birds’ physical activity.
The exhibition will also feature a specialized event, DLG Spotlight: Barn Robot Event, where visitors will be shown modern robotic milking systems and their practical application on farms.
