Ukraine has 12,800 hectares of vineyards, but the total vineyard area has been declining in recent years.
This was reported by Drinks+, citing a study of Ukraine’s wine market conducted by the Diia.Businessteam at the initiative of Wines of Ukraine.
According to the study, vineyard acreage nearly halved between 2019 and 2023. The decline reached 20.9% in 2022, followed by another 23.9% in 2023. However, the sector showed signs of recovery in 2024, with vineyard area increasing by 6.6%, indicating a faster rebound than experts had expected.
In 2025, the area dedicated to wine grapes declined by 1%, while table grape acreage fell by 44%.
The researchers identified three regions as the core of Ukraine’s grape-growing industry:
Overall, Ukraine produced approximately 50,000 tonnes of grapes in 2025.
