On Farmer’s Day, the award ceremony for the winner and finalists of the nationwide competition «POWER OF AGROCHANGES» took place in Ukraine’s capital. The competition is organized by the online media outlet AgroPortal.ua with the support of the U.S. Government under the AGRO Program.
According to the competition rules, the Expert Council selected 12 finalists from 40 shortlisted applicants — three finalists in each of the four nominations.
«For Ukraine, a country with a powerful agricultural sector, every innovation in the field has an impact far beyond a single farm: it affects the well-being of families, communities and entire regions. We are already seeing this not only in international studies, but also in the example of Ukrainian farms that are implementing modern technologies with the support of the AGRO Program,» said Kseniia Sydorkina, Director of the AGRO Program, during the event.
According to her, the AGRO Program is supporting the «POWER OF AGROCHANGES» competition for the second year in a row, as well as farmers who demonstrate a true example of innovation, entrepreneurship and readiness to change.
«We saw how Ukrainian farmers not only implement innovations, but also become their developers — creating their own management systems and new business models. Among the finalists are small and medium-sized farms, but the solutions they are implementing are at the level of large agribusiness. The applications confirm that today, the winner is not the one who has more land or machinery. The winner is the one who sees their farm as a system and manages it based on data,» she added.
At the same time, Kseniia Sydorkina emphasized that «POWER OF AGROCHANGES» is not only a technology competition. It is a competition of people who do not wait for ideal conditions — people who, despite shelling, power outages, financial difficulties, climate challenges and uncertainty, continue to invest, open new areas of activity and build the future with an unshakable faith in their native land.
