Ukraine ranks third among sugar suppliers to the European Union, holding an 11% share of total imports.
These figures were provided by the European Commission based on the results of the first eight months of the 2025/26 marketing year (which in Europe starts in October), according to the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine, Ukrtsukor.
The leading sugar exporters to the EU are South Africa and Mauritius, with shares of 16% and 12%, respectively.
In total, during this period, the European Union imported 628 thousand tonnes of sugar (excluding sugar imports under IPR, which amounted to about 500 thousand tonnes), the association added.
