USDA downgrades forecast for wheat and barley exports from Ukraine

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has lowered its forecast for grain exports from Ukraine in 2025/26 MY.

This is reported in the USDA report for April.

So, experts downgraded the forecast of wheat exports to 12.5 mln tonnes (-1 mln tonnes), while the harvest estimate remained unchanged — 24 mln tonnes.

The USDA also believes that barley exports from Ukraine in the current season will amount to 2.2 mln tonnes (-0.3 mln tonnes), while the harvest will remain unchanged at 5.6 mln tonnes.

In general, the USDA forecasts that the global wheat harvest in the current season will be 844.15 mln tonnes (+2 mln tonnes compared to the previous month), and exports will be 221.9 mln tonnes (+0.3 mln tonnes).

World corn production is expected to reach 1301 million tons (+3.6 million tons), and exports — 200.5 million tons (+0.4 million tons).

Barley production in the world is 154.8 million tons (+0.5 million tons), trade is expected to reach almost 32.58 million tons (+0.1 million tons to the previous forecast).
