Enterprises accredited to export products to the European Union produce 83% of poultry meat and 75% of table eggs in Ukraine.

This was reported by Serhii Karpenko, Executive Director of the Union of Poultry Farmers of Ukraine, in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

According to him, 15 poultry meat production and cutting facilities, 29 egg production facilities and five egg processing plants currently have European accreditation. Since the beginning of 2026 alone, 22 enterprises have been added to the list of facilities authorised to export to the EU.

At the same time, a significant number of small producers face difficulties in implementing European requirements, as their share of total production is small. Since 2026, these requirements have also become mandatory at the national level.

«EU standards are a benchmark for many countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Americas. Products that comply with EU standards automatically receive the «green light» in most global markets,» Karpenko noted.

In his opinion, harmonising Ukrainian legislation with EU standards and ensuring compliance with them by market operators will make it possible to increase exports of poultry products not only to EU countries but also to other global markets.
