As of September 9, the weighted average price of the three grades of raw milk stood at UAH 15.10/kg excluding VAT, which is UAH 0.75 higher than in the previous month.

At the same time, compared with September 2025, milk is UAH 1.52 cheaper, according to the Association of Milk Producers.

The average purchase price of extra-grade milk stood at UAH 15.30/kg, which is UAH 0.70 higher than in the previous month. Prices for this grade at farms range from UAH 14.50 to UAH 15.80/kg excluding VAT.

Higher-grade milk costs an average of UAH 15.00/kg, which is UAH 0.80 more than in the previous month. Prices for higher-grade milk range from UAH 14.50 to UAH 15.40/kg excluding VAT.

The average price of first-grade milk increased by UAH 1 and amounted to UAH 14.50/kg excluding VAT. The minimum price at farms was UAH 13.60/kg, while the maximum was UAH 14.80/kg.

Experts note that raw milk prices increased in early September despite the deterioration in the security situation and weak domestic demand for dairy products.

Milk prices are being influenced by sustained demand for exchange-traded commodities in export markets and rising prices for them, particularly skimmed milk powder. There are currently no significant stocks of butter or milk powder in Ukrainian warehouses.

«By the end of September, the price of large batches of extra-grade milk may rise to UAH 15.50–16.00/kg, and by the end of the year — to UAH 17.00–17.50/kg, depending on the security situation, demand, prices for finished dairy products, volumes of dairy exports and imports, and the exchange rate,» experts forecast.
