The figures were published by the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, according to AgroTimes.
At the same time, the industrial sector recorded growth in pig numbers. The herd at agricultural enterprises increased by 7.8% year-on-year to 3.31 million head.
By contrast, pig numbers in household farms continued to decline. Over the past year, the population fell by 24.9% to 1.27 million head.
