USDA Lowers Forecast for Ukraine’s Wheat and Barley Exports

This is stated in the department’s September report.

The wheat harvest is expected to reach 26 million tonnes, which is 0.6 million tonnes higher than last month’s forecast. Ukrainian wheat exports in the current season are projected at 12.5 million tonnes (-1 million tonnes).

The forecast for the barley harvest has also been increased to 6.6 million tonnes (+0.5 million tonnes), while exports have been reduced to 1.9 million tonnes (-0.2 million tonnes).

Analysts’ estimates for Ukrainian corn remain unchanged for now: production — 31.8 million tonnes, exports — 22 million tonnes.

At the same time, USDA forecasts that the global wheat harvest this season will reach 822.4 million tonnes (+3.1 million tonnes), while exports will amount to 213.18 million tonnes (-1 million tonnes).

The global barley harvest is expected to reach 160.9 million tonnes (+3.8 million tonnes), while trade is projected at 31.8 million tonnes (+1.8 million tonnes).

Global corn production is expected to amount to almost 1,291 million tonnes (-7.9 million tonnes), while exports are projected at 211.6 million tonnes (-0.5 million tonnes).
