Investing in real estate and land is a good way to preserve savings amid inflation and exchange rate fluctuations.
This opinion was expressed by economist Andrii Novak in an interview with Komersant Ukrainskyi.
The economist warned against a common mistake — keeping cash savings at home without earning any income from them.
If savings are sufficient, the expert recommends purchasing real estate and land. According to him, prices for these assets have already reached their lowest levels during the war, but will begin to rise once hostilities end.
«If your savings allow you to purchase something substantial, I recommend buying real estate and land plots. As soon as the war ends, the value of all assets in Ukraine will begin to rise. Therefore, you certainly won’t lose out — you will only benefit,» the economist stated.
At the same time, Andrii Novak advises determining the purpose of the investment before purchasing real estate or land. If a person plans to profit from an increase in the asset’s value in the future, they should assess its investment potential.
The economist also recommends paying particular attention to the security situation in the region.
«Some central, western and northern regions of Ukraine are relatively safer than the eastern and southern regions, which are located closer to the front line. However, there are no completely safe areas in Ukraine,» he said.
Before making a purchase, it is also worth assessing the costs of maintaining the asset and the possibility of selling it in the future, taking into account any additional investment required.
