The agricultural sector needs around UAH 200 billion in working capital financing to carry out the main autumn fieldwork.
Oleksandr Zakharchuk, head of the Department of Investment and Logistics at the National Scientific Center “Institute of Agricultural Economics” and a corresponding member of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine, noted this in a comment to AgroPortal.ua.
He elaborates: 70 billion UAH is needed for planting winter crops, 80 billion UAH for harvesting late crops, and 50 billion UAH for preparing the soil for spring fieldwork in 2027.
“Taking into account payments to shareholders, loan servicing, and other financial obligations, the total need could reach 250–280 billion UAH,” the researcher adds.
