Ukraine Doubles Organic Nut Exports, Key Buyers Named

Ukraine exported 4.9 thousand tonnes of organic nuts worth €16.6 million in 2025. Compared to the previous year, export volumes increased by 91%, while in value terms they more than doubled.
These are the findings of a study conducted at the beginning of 2026 by the certification body Organic Standard in cooperation with the state institution Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office and the national project Diia.Business, OrganicInfo reports.
Experts note that Ukraine’s organic nut exports are currently represented exclusively by walnuts. However, certified organic production of hazelnuts and almonds creates opportunities for further diversification of exports.
The top nine buyers of Ukrainian organic nuts in 2025 were:
- The Netherlands — 1,952 tonnes worth €4.6 million;
- Austria — 986.3 tonnes worth €2.6 million;
- Romania — 724.0 tonnes worth €3.6 million;
- France — 638.0 tonnes worth €2.5 million;
- Germany — 284.7 tonnes worth €0.9 million;
- Italy — 160.1 tonnes worth €320.1 thousand;
- Moldova — 120.0 tonnes worth €440.0 thousand;
- Poland — 20.5 tonnes worth €133.1 thousand;
- The United Kingdom — 20.0 tonnes worth €40.0 thousand.
