russian strikes on agricultural processing enterprises are creating additional risks for Ukraine’s agricultural sector and the global food market, as damage to production facilities affects demand for raw materials and opportunities for their sale.

This was stated by Denys Marchuk, Deputy Head of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council (AAC).

According to him, attacks on processing enterprises also create risks for Ukraine’s food security.

Denys Marchuk stressed the need to review the conditions for soybean and rapeseed exports. Ukraine currently applies a 10% export duty on these crops, which was intended, among other things, to stimulate domestic processing.

«Under wartime risks, producers should have the opportunity to sell their products both on the domestic and foreign markets,» he noted.

The AAC considers the duty discriminatory against small and medium-sized agricultural enterprises, restricting exports and potentially lowering domestic purchase prices for soybeans and rapeseed.
