Only a limited number of plants continue to process sunflower in Ukraine

The main directions of oil exports are as follows:

• Spain - 72.7 thsd tonnes;
• India - 61.1 thsd tonnes. t;
• Italy - 42.7 thousand tons;
• Iraq - 34.3 thousand tons;
• Netherlands - 27.7 thousand tons;
• France - 18.7 thousand tons;
• Saudi Arabia - 18.3 thousand tons. t

Sunflower prices in Ukraine increased to $742, including VAT (CPT Odesa), which is more related to the local competition of processors for the residual supply than to a direct signal from European oil, experts say.

«At the same time, there are a limited number of plants on the market that still continue to process sunflower. A significant part of the plants switched to the mode of prevention and preparation for the new rapeseed season,» the experts add.

FOB Northern Europe for July-August is trading at around $1500, while a week earlier the indications were at $1510. For processing, this means that the increase in the purchase price of sunflower has limited space without a corresponding expansion of the premium in products, Spike Brokers explained.

«The new sunflower crop is trading at a discount of up to $ 60, including VAT, and starts at $ 660, including VAT, delivered to the plant,» the report summarizes.
