Season Wrap-Up: Rapeseed Processing in Ukraine Reaches Historic High
Ukraine processed 1.3 million tonnes of rapeseed during the 2025/26 marketing year (MY), accounting for 42% of the total harvest and setting an all-time record for rapeseed processing in the country.
The figures were reported by the Ukroliiaprom Association.
Rapeseed oil production reached 380.47 thousand tonnes in 2025, driven by a significant increase in domestic processing following the introduction of legislation imposing higher export duties on rapeseed.
«Compared with the pre-war period, rapeseed oil production increased 2.1-fold from 184.8 thousand tonnes in 2021. Compared with 2022, when production totaled 62.9 thousand tonnes, output in 2025 increased 6.1-fold. Compared with 2023 (299.3 thousand tonnes) and 2024 (171.8 thousand tonnes), rapeseed oil production in 2025 increased 1.3-fold and 2.2-fold, respectively,» the association said.
Production of rapeseed meal also increased, reaching 540.46 thousand tonnes in 2025. This exceeded the 2021 level (246.68 thousand tonnes) by 2.2 times, the 2022 level (78.76 thousand tonnes) by 6.9 times, and the 2023 (375.78 thousand tonnes) and 2024 (301.99 thousand tonnes) levels by 1.4 times and 1.8 times, respectively.
