Starokostiantynivtsukor, a plant that is part of A’SPIK Group, is implementing a large-scale investment project to modernize its production facilities.

The company is building a continuous vacuum crystallizer, which will be the first piece of equipment of this type in Ukraine, Starokostiantynivtsukor reported on Facebook.

A vacuum crystallizer is one of the key elements in the technological process of sugar production. It is where massecuite is formed — a mixture of sugar crystals and mother liquor. Operating under vacuum makes it possible to lower the boiling temperature of the syrup and preserve the quality of the finished product.

Unlike traditional batch-type units, the new equipment will operate continuously. This will ensure the stability of the production process, uniform formation of sugar crystals, and more efficient use of energy resources.

According to Ivan Mysko, Chief Engineer of the enterprise, the modernization is aimed at increasing production efficiency and introducing modern technological solutions.

For reference: A’SPIK Group is engaged in sugar production, cultivation of sugar beet, grains, soybeans and corn, as well as livestock farming. Starokostiantynivtsukor LLC, Shepetivka Sugar Plant PJSC and Krasyliv Sugar Plant OJSC, which are part of the group, specialize in sugar beet processing, as well as the production of sugar, molasses and granulated beet pulp. The enterprises account for 6% of Ukraine’s total sugar production.
