At the AGRO Kirovohradshchyna Field Day, taking place on June 3–4, BEDNAR, together with its official dealer Agroresurs, unveiled the BEDNAR GALAXY trailed roller to Ukrainian farmers for the first time.
The presentation of this new model for the Ukrainian market became one of the key highlights of the BEDNAR exhibition, as the machine addresses practical farm needs for high-quality soil leveling, clod crushing, and reconsolidation, according to the company’s press service.
The field day format allowed visitors not only to inspect the machine up close but also to evaluate its design, key features, and understand which field operations the GALAXY roller can perform most effectively. For farms operating under various soil and climatic conditions, trailed rollers remain an important element of soil cultivation systems, especially when it is necessary to quickly prepare a level field surface, preserve soil moisture, and create better conditions for subsequent operations.
The BEDNAR GALAXY GE is a Cambridge-type trailed roller designed for uniform soil surface leveling, clod breaking, and soil reconsolidation. The machine helps create a high-quality field surface after primary or pre-sowing cultivation and improves soil-to-seed contact after planting. This is particularly important for small-seeded crops, where seedbed uniformity and stable moisture in the upper soil layer directly affect crop emergence quality.
One of the key advantages of the GALAXY roller is its low center-of-gravity design combined with high throughput capacity. This enables stable field performance, excellent terrain following, and uniform pressure distribution across working sections. For farmers, this means consistent results across the entire working width without excessive compaction in some areas and insufficient soil treatment in others.
Another important design feature is the hydraulic pressure system applied to the working sections. Individual roller sections overlap and independently follow the field contour, ensuring consistent performance even on uneven terrain. This solution is particularly valuable for large-scale operations, where uniform cultivation quality across the full working width directly impacts productivity and the effectiveness of subsequent field operations.
GALAXY rollers are equipped with durable cast-iron rings designed for intensive operation under demanding conditions. These working elements effectively break soil clods, consolidate the upper soil layer, and withstand heavy loads, including work on stony fields. In addition, BEDNAR uses a spring system between roller segments that prevents play between rings and reduces maintenance requirements after extended operation.
The machine can be equipped with the Crushbar front hydraulic leveling bar to improve the quality of leveling. It helps to break up rough furrows, level out unevenness and prepare the field for efficient operation of the roller sections. The operator can adjust the intensity of the bar directly from the tractor cab, adapting the unit to specific field conditions. Thanks to this, GALAXY can not only level and compact the soil, but also simultaneously sow small seeds, green manure or apply microgranulate. For farmers, this opens up the possibility of combining two operations in one pass, saving time, fuel and reducing the number of passes of equipment across the field.
The GALAXY model range includes units with working widths of 6.3 m, 8.3 m and 12.3 m, which allows you to choose a solution for both medium-sized farms and large agricultural enterprises. The three-section models are focused on compactness and efficiency, while the five-section GALAXY GE 12300 with a working width of 12.3 m provides high productivity and high-quality terrain tracking on large areas.
The appearance of BEDNAR GALAXY on the Ukrainian market is a logical continuation of the expansion of the BEDNAR line of equipment for complex tillage. For BEDNAR and the dealer Agroresurs, the first presentation of GALAXY at AGRO Kirovograd region was an opportunity to show farmers another practical solution to improve the quality of field work. And for farms, it is an opportunity to get to know the unit better, which can become an important element of soil preparation technology and effective moisture management.
