The Programme of Activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine provides for increasing the actual area of irrigated land in Ukraine to 200,000 hectares by 2027.

To achieve this, in 2027 the government plans to introduce long-term planning for the development of hydraulic land reclamation and establish operators of state irrigation and drainage reclamation systems, Open4business reports.

The programme also provides for the integration of data from the State Water Cadastre and other natural resource cadastres into the State Land Cadastre in 2027, based on up-to-date geospatial data from the national spatial data infrastructure.

A separate task for 2026 is to ensure the continuity of harvesting and transportation of agricultural products under martial law in order to preserve the harvest and minimise losses.
