As a result of a massive Russian attack on the night of June 2, one of the destroyed facilities was the warehouse of RUTA, a bitter liqueur (balm) created from 96 botanicals collected from different regions of Ukraine. Support from Ukrainians has inspired the producers to resume production of the premium bitter liqueur.

This was announced by RUTA owners Oleh and Oksana Levchenko.

«On Tuesday morning, when a missile strike destroyed 5,000 bottles of Ruta, we decided that this was it — we would definitely have to shut down because there was simply no way to continue. But then we received an enormous number of messages saying that Ruta is needed, that it is one of Ukraine’s finest beverages, and that Ruta must not be lost.People offered to start a fundraiser, place pre-orders, and even buy the fire-damaged bottles. There are so many sincere and kind people around us that we were genuinely overwhelmed by the support,» Oksana Levchenko said in a statement.

She also noted that the team does not yet know how or with what resources they will continue operating, but they believe that Ruta will live on.
