Emergency Support Package for Farmers to Total UAH 80 Billion
The government has approved an emergency support package for Ukrainian farmers in response to Russian terror in the Black Sea and the blockade of export routes. The total amount of lending available under the programme will be up to UAH 80 billion.
This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi.
«We are introducing changes to the 5-7-9% programme so that farmers can access preferential loans to replenish working capital. The state will compensate the difference in interest rates. The total amount of lending available under this programme will be up to UAH 80 billion. This will help farmers purchase everything necessary for field operations, preserve production and ensure stable exports of Ukrainian agricultural products,» the statement said.
He added that negotiations are underway with the European Commission to secure additional support for expanding the programme. Additional practical decisions to support farmers will also be announced in the near future.

Ministry of Agrarian Policy Requests €220 Million in Non-Repayable EU Support for FarmersThe Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine has appealed to the European Commission to consider allocating €220 million in non-repayable support to compensate interest payments on loans for Ukrainian small and medium-sized agricultural producers. Such a contribution would enable a credit portfolio of up to €4 billion to finance farmers’ working capital, with the final interest rate for borrowers not exceeding 10% per annum.
